High ratings fooled me.

Not worth it. With the recent changes from the Jan 2016 PMP exam update, you really need to know the ITTO's which are incomplete on this pamphlet. Also, the focus of the exam has recently changed on specific processes that aren't covered in depth on this guide. Make your own flash cards.

Pretty funny how one of the major sections of the PMP is Quality Control and the three things that Andy Crowe puts out (Quick Reference Guide, flash cards, and How to Pass on your First Try) are completely different with their information. For example, the book lists all inputs, tools and techniques. The Quick Reference Guide lists less; and the flashcards lack 90% of total inputs, tools, and techniques. Rather than list all of them, in many cases it says none. Normally having three resources would be advantages. However, using these inconjunction will only lead you to confusion, and likely failure the first few times you take the exam.

I really wanted this to be a helpful quick reference not it contains inaccurate information. For example, it shows only 2 inputs to the Develop Project Charter process but there at actually 5. I can't trust it so I returned it.

About the Author
A. A. Milne was an English novelist and playwright born in 1882. A student of H. G. Wells during public school, Milne went on to study mathematics in Cambridge. During his time there, Milne frequently contributed to the college s student magazine, Granta, and was so successful that he was offered a job at the British humour magazine Punch. Milne s son, Christopher Robin, was born in 1920. After writing a poem for him entitled Teddy Bear, Milne began publishing children s stories about Christopher Robin and his stuffed animals, including his bear, Winnie-the-Pooh. Milne s children s books, Winnie-the-Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner, have since become beloved classics that have been adapted into the famous Disney franchise. Milne died in 1956 at the age of 74.

Charles Robinson (1870-1937) is best known for his classic illustrations to fairy tales and other children s books, including Robert Louis Stevenson s "Child s Garden of Verses "and Frances Hodgson Burnett s "The Secret Garden".

Loved this fun, whimsical biography of Ben Franklin and so did my granddaughter! I like to think I know a lot about Ben having taught US History for years, but I learned a few new things, too. Educational and fun!

Good information

At less than fifty pages, a basic biography of this great man that's suitable for intermediate grade students. The basic information is here, his early life, his many interests and contributions, and more than a little focus on his work with electricity. Pretty basic, pretty accurate, gives some sense of Franklin and his times, but is not well suited as an attention-grabber. A youngster having to do a report on a famous American, would do well to start here. It's accurate and readable.

On Manuela Cook's footsteps

This course follows the same idea as Manuela Cook's course books, which since 1987 have been offering Portuguese courses for both European and Brazilian Portuguese, jointly. The Cook's courses are based on commonalities between European and Brazilian Portuguese but also include and explain the important differences; and provide both Brazilian and European voices. The Ponto de Encontro programme has considerably more material, and often appears to have in mind group work in class. It's not really for the self-taught learner. It is more for class teaching, with interaction in groups, but rather expensive and not the best if you are an independent learner studying alone.

Definitely has room for improvement

I'm giving this book three stars because I am pretty disappointed by it, but not so much that I haven't learned from it. I really don't like the organization of this book. I remember having to flip to chapter five (or something like that) to learn the conjugation of 'falar' (to speak). I feel bad because my teacher is one of the authors of this book and I love her and her class. I just wish it was organized better. Also, the explanations are not very clear. I speak fluent French and have briefly learned Italian so this is not my first go-around learning languages. I bought another Portuguese grammar book and sometimes I look at grammatical explanations online and they are much clearer. The Italian book that I used when I began was so much clearer and easier to follow. This book is just so expensive you should be able to expect a little more from it.

This book is terrible

This book has the worst layout I have ever seen. This is my third language (English and spanish) and it is incredibly difficult to follow.

1. The top of the page has one page number while the bottom of the page has another (so most of the time in class the teacher says turn to page 116 and we are all on page 111 or vice versa).
2. When you use the online listening section for vocab the speaker follows no pattern. Sometimes she is reading left to right (p. 192/202 "A casa" for example), but then halfway through she will skip over words and come back to them. I had to listen to it 4 times (with several rewinds) before I could follow her. Plus it goes way too fast for beginners with no pause for repetition!
3. There is no pattern throughout the book for verbs. In some chapters/liçao verb conjugation explanations are in blue and yellow (p. 158/166) and other pages the verbs look like all of the other text (p. 55/57, regular -er and -ir verbs)

There are a few other issues, but I will keep this short. I wish I didn't have to use this book for my class, it is NOTHING compared to my various spanish books.

Ages 2^-5. The fourth book about Froggy begins with a nightmare many kids will recognize: he finds himself at school in only his underwear. Luckily, it was all a bad dream. He wakes up in his bed and gets all dressed up for his first day at school. He's so nervous he can't pour milk on his bowl of flies for breakfast. In class he has to learn to keep his voice down and pay attention, but his ebullient performance at circle time is a great success. The big, bright cartoon illustrations pick up the silliness of nervous Froggy, and children will laugh at his innocence and sympathize with his jitters. Hazel Rochman

We love Froggy!

If you want a light-hearted look at the first day of school, this is the perfect book. Froggy, who as you might guess is a frog, is nervous about the first day of school. So nervous, in fact, that he lets his imagination carry him away. First he has the dreaded dream about running late on the first day of school, nearly missing the bus, and arriving only to realize he's running around in his underwear! When he really does get to school, he's thrilled to find his name tag on his table. "He liked his name. It was the first word he knew how to read. It was the only word he knew how to read. He read it aloud, louder and louder. Frrrooggyy." A little too loud, it turns out, as his teacher, Miss Witherspoon, kindly informs him that it's time to pay attention. Later, as he gazes out the window, he's so impressed by the falling leaves that he topples out of his chair. Miss Witherspoon tells him, "Kindly stay in your seat, dear. . .We'll sit on the floor at circle time." At circle time, Froggy shares how he learned how to swim over the summer. He soon has the whole class going through the motions -- even the principal joins in! When his parents ask about his first day of school, he proudly informs them that he taught the principal how to swim! As Frank Remkiewicz draws him, Froggy is just your average little boy who happens to be a frog. He may have webbed feet, but he covers them with sneakers. Froggy's face is a mirror of his emotions -- wide-eyed terror when he awakens from a bad dream, pink-tinged embarrassment when he notices the principal watching his "swimming lessons."

It's Time For School and Froggy's On His Way.....

It's Froggy's first day of school and this ever enthusiastic little amphibian can't wait. He gets dressed, eats his flies and milk, catches the school bus and has no trouble finding his very own desk with his very own name on it. He's so thrilled to be able to read his name, the first word, he realizes, that he can read, that he reads it again and again, louder and louder and even louder, until his teacher informs him that he needs to keep his voice down and that it's time to be quiet and pay attention. But it's hard for him to sit still and listen and take turns, so hard, in fact that while looking out the window and day dreaming, he falls off his chair. His teacher gently reminds him to stay in his seat and that he'll be able to sit on the floor at circle time. When circle time finally arrives, Froggy has his moment. While telling the class about how he learned to swim during the summer, he starts to sing and dance, laugh and hop and pretty soon the whole class is "swimming" right along with him, including Mr Mugwort, the principal..... No one captures the essence of a busy little pre-schooler, with places to go, people to see and things to do, like Jonathan London. His funny, joyful text, full of energy, motion and silly sound effects is wonderfully depicted in Frank Remkiewicz's bright, bold, expressive artwork. Together, they show a successful first day of school, not perfect, but realistic and reassuring to youngsters getting ready for the big step. This story is just one in a delightful series of firsts and your kids will love each and every one of them. Froggy Goes To School is a winner and a good way to help prepare your children for all the fun that's ahead when school begins.

Froggy is a hilarious, lovable character!

This book is currently my five-year old's favorite! His kindergarten teacher read it to them the first week of school. The story line gives every one in our family the giggles. Our three-year old now refers to zip, zap, zup everytime she gets dressed. Cute story!
